Recycled furniture for a company dedicated to recycling

17.06.2024 | Offices

When the international company Peute Group, dedicated to the recycling of paper and plastics, had to choose furniture for its offices in Alblasserdam (Netherlands), it did not hesitate for a second.

Their chairs and stools had to be up to par with the company and be sustainable enough. This is how the interior design team decided on the MASS Chair and the SET Stool, designed by Javier Cuñado of ITEMdesignworks and Mario Ruiz respectively. Both seats are available in the Range 100/100 by Sellex, that means they are made of 100% recycled and recyclable polypropylene, and the rest of the materials in their composition are mostly recycled and 100% recyclable

In addition to being what they were looking for from a sustainability point of view, the MASS Chair and the SET Stool are versatile seats that could be used both in the office area and in the production hall. Another feature that Peute Group valued is resistance, as well as a good quality-price ratio.

Specifically, more than a hundred units of the MASS Chair in black have been installed. Some with armrests, others without; some with upholstered seat, others without upholstery. The same happens with the SET Stool Sled, of which 52 pieces have been installed, some with upholstered seats, others not, but all in black.

New location to continue growing

Peute is an international company dedicated to the recycling of paper and plastics that was founded in 1960. In recent years it has gone from being a small local player to becoming one of the largest independent paper and plastic processors in the world. Such has been the growth that, at the end of 2023, they decided to move from Dordrecht to Rapenburg, in Alblasserdam.

On the new 6-hectare site, the headquarters are connected by a walkway to 36,000 square meters of production space. RoosRos Architects, working with Design Logic Architects as building architect, was responsible for the overall interior design of the new location. In collaboration with SV Collection and Julia+, the result was a unique design that perfectly reflects Peute's circular vision. A fantastic work environment, with very natural colours, in which both MASS and SET fit perfectly.
